This Role
To carry out all cask-handling tasks necessary to enable new spirit to be processed into mature blended spirit within the operational areas according to business goals and customer requirements.
Your Unique Contribution
In your role as Drain & Fill Operator, you will be an integral part of a team reporting to the Process Leader, with some of your key responsibilities listed below:
- To work safely within company guidelines and HSE legislation
- Contribute to a positive safety culture across site
- Support peers and management in the continuous improvement of the operational areas including safety & performance
- To fill and despatch casks to meet customer requirements
- To receive and disgorge filled casks to meet blending requirements and to supply Vatting
- To supply empty casks to meet inventory requirements on filling, dumping, sales and storage
- Operate machinery, vehicles and equipment appropriate to skill level
- Record activities on paperwork and computer where necessary (including downtime)
- Maintain spirit integrity through checking identity of casks received or filled
- Check casks are fit for fill and do not leak when filled
- Report any anomaly promptly
- Assist maintenance tradesmen as required
- Follow correct procedures in emergency situations
- Actively participate in daily, weekly and monthly SIM meetings, team briefings and tool box talks.
